  • Strandabyggð

    Kelp forests support diverse ecosystems and provide essential benefits to coastal communities. IceKelp aims to develop a sustainable seaweed economy in Strandabyggð, helping protect the environment and enhance local resilience. By engaging residents, training new farmers, and conducting research, the project will integrate kelp cultivation into the region’s economy while preserving marine biodiversity.

  • Orle

    The Municipality of Orle aims to become a living lab for ecosystem-based management. The project will assess local challenges, establish a pilot site for biodiversity protection, and apply A-AAGORA best practices. It will enhance nature-based solutions, involve citizens in data exchange, and ensure long-term sustainability through hydro-ecosystem awareness.

  • Split

    The Split-Dalmatia region project focuses on coastal preservation and restoration in Grad Kaštela and Solin. It will identify key challenges, test A-AAGORA best practices through a pilot habitat, and apply Nature-based Solutions (NbS). The final phase will ensure long-term sustainability by assessing innovative technologies and engaging stakeholders in ecosystem-based management.

  • Vallina

    The Vallina River in eastern Asturias faces ongoing environmental degradation due to human activity and irregular water flow. This project aims to restore the river’s ecosystem by clearing debris, controlling pollution, reforesting the riverside, and improving public access. The goal is to preserve water quality, protect historic landmarks, and enhance the natural and cultural heritage of the region.

  • Corrubedo

    ArousaLab is developing a Living Lab in the Corrubedo-PNIllas Atlanticas area to promote citizen-driven environmental actions. The project aims to enhance ocean literacy, social engagement, and ecosystem protection through community-led initiatives. Activities will focus on marine litter reduction, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable ecotourism, inspired by A-AAGORA demo sites.

  • Cyprus

    Seagrass meadows in Limassol Bay are threatened by human activities, invasive species, and climate change. The ResPos project unites experts and local authorities to restore these vital ecosystems using nature-based solutions. By engaging stakeholders and developing restoration strategies, it aims to establish a seagrass restoration hub in the Eastern Mediterranean.

  • South Aegean

    The South Aegean Region joins A-AAGORA to promote sustainable development, balancing environmental preservation with economic growth. A pilot action in Rhodes will integrate tourism and aquaculture through Marine Biology Tours, educating visitors on marine ecosystems and aquaculture’s role. This initiative enhances environmental awareness, supports local businesses, and fosters community engagement in ecosystem conservation.
